The garden of the Serenissima, on the waters of the Livenza
Built on islands in the Livenza river, Sacile is a small town of palaces reflected in the water. Its elegance earned it the name Giardino della Serenissima, the garden of the Venetian Republic.
Bridges and riverside paths link the islands of the old town. Along the water, the façades of the palaces recall the centuries when Venetian noble families built their homes here.
The cathedral of San Nicolò, a Renaissance church, stands at the heart of the town, a few steps from the arcades of Piazza del Popolo and from Palazzo Ragazzoni, with its frescoed halls.
Every August Sacile hosts the Sagra dei Osei, a festival dedicated to birds that dates back to the 13th century and is considered one of the oldest in Italy.

Sacile lies between Friuli and the Veneto: enjoy a spritz by the river, with wines from the Friuli Grave area and the nearby Prosecco hills.
Tell me your dates and group size, and I'll shape the visit around you. It can also be combined with a winery or another town on the same day.
